French packager Anjac Health & Beauty has acquired Slovenian dietary supplement company Health Chain Group (HCG).
The move is part of Anjac’s strategy to expand in the area of nutraceuticals and nutritional ingredients. It says its goal is to combine nutrition and supplements to offer health solutions. Anjac adds that the deal also strengthens its commercial presence in Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America.
HCG has three key businesses: PharmaLinea, which develops turnkey dietary supplements supported by clinical studies, patented ingredients and technologies, as well as scientific and marketing consulting services; Hermes Consilium, a creator and distributor of patented ingredients; and ErgoPharma, a production unit.
HCG’s product lines cover several areas, including iron deficiency, women’s health and bone and joint health in formats such as liquids, capsules, powders and softgels.
It has two R&D and manufacturing sites in Slovenia.
The acquisition is accompanied by an investment in the new Velenje site, designed to increase production capacity. The total investment amounts to more than €25m and will triple production capacity by the end of 2026, with further potential for development.
Anjac is targeting a turnover of €800m for 2025, of which €30m will come from HCG.
