Boots UK temporarily closes 60 stores

UK retailer Boots (Walgreens Boots Alliance) temporarily closed 60 stores which it describes as “very quiet at this time” due to the COVID-19 pandemic,

On April 10, 25 London stores suspended operations, while 35 shops throughout the UK closed on April 15.

The retailer says it has seen a significant decrease in central London and airport locations, while local community pharmacies are currently seeing nearly double the number of people requiring prescriptions.

Boots has asked pharmacy, healthcare and store management employees working in quieter stores to temporarily transfer to busier locations or to stay at home where transfers are not needed or possible.
