Brazil’s beauty exports up 9.9% in first half

Beauty exports from Brazilian companies represented by beauty industry project Beautycare Brazil rose 9.9% to $84.4m in the first half of 2022 compared to the same period the year prior.

Established in 2000, the project aims to promote the internationalization of personal hygiene, perfumery and cosmetics companies and the growth of beauty industry exports.

The 77 companies that Beautycare Brazil represents traded 120 products to 108 countries in the first six months of 2022. Argentina was the main market, followed by the US, Colombia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Exports to South America represented 56% of total exports, while North America came in second (15%), followed by Asia (13%) and Europe (11%).

Ingredients represented 62.6% of exports while finished products accounted for 24.3%. Among categories, haircare accounted for 60.5% of the finished products exports.
