Cerruti 1881 launches addition to VIVO line

Fragrance brand Cerruti 1881 has launched a new addition to its VIVO line called VIVO ELIXIR.

The fragrance is inspired by travel and exploration. Cerruti 1881 says it combines notes commonly found in Middle Eastern fragrances, with a fougère accord that is more typical of Western scents.

VIVO ELIXIR was created by dsm-firmenich Principal Perfumer Frank Voelkl, in collaboration with Grégoire Balleydier. It is an aromatic woody fougère scent. Notes of oud, saffron and suede contrast with an aromatic fougère structure of nutmeg, lavandin and cedarwood.

The fragrance opens with pink pepper combined with nutmeg and aromatic lavandin. The heart is comprised of saffron and a blend of suede and vanilla for a gourmand twist. A base of oud and Virginia cedarwood lends smokiness to the scent, while cistus absolute and Amberever are said to create a lasting trail.

The VIVO ELIXIR bottle reimagines the design of the original VIVO fragrance, sprayed with a gradient of transparent blue, with a metallic anthracite blue on the shroud. The color blue is meant to reflect the freshness of the scent.

VIVO, which means ‘alive,’ is translated into 18 languages from key continents on the bottle. The flacon invites consumers to “break the code” by vertically aligning the ‘V’ with the numbers ‘1881’ highlighted in blue on the ring.

As reported, Cerruti 1881 launched VIVO in 2024.
