French cosmetics cluster Cosmetic Valley unveiled its plans for its Maison de la Cosmétique and launched a sponsorship campaign for the facility at an event on October 7 at the Petit Palais in Paris.

The Maison de la Cosmétique is intended to be a place that embodies French excellence in the cosmetics and fragrance sector.

It will be located in the French city of Chartres and is slated to open at the end of 2028. The site will span 2,650m², with 1,000m² of exhibition space, a 400m² Cosmétopée Garden, as well as workspaces and event venues.

The space will be open to the general public. It aims to receive 100,000 visitors per year and to become a center of attraction and international influence for the industry, which represents €71bn in annual sales.

The project is led by Cosmetic Valley and supported by the city of Chartres’ local government, Chartres Métropole.

Cosmetic Valley has launched a large-scale sponsorship campaign through its endowment fund to complete the project. Its target is to raise between €7.5m and €10m by 2028. Several levels of donor commitment are available, and in return sponsors will receive benefits, such as visibility, involvement in governance or privileged access to events.

Cosmetic Valley unveiled nine sponsors that have committed to the project: Chanel Parfums Beauté, Credit Agricole Val de France, Groupe IDEC, L’Oréal Groupe, LVMH Beauty, Groupe Pochet, Puig, SILAB and Verescence.

The event was attended by Jean-Pierre Gorges, President of Chartres Métropole, and Jean-Michel Wilmotte, the project’s architect.
