Dufry granted concession at Sangster International Airport in Jamaica

Swiss travel retailer Dufry has been granted a new concession license at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The agreement will see Dufry increase its retail space at the airport from 1,800m2 (19,375ft2) to 2,260m2 (24,326ft2) as airport operator MBJ Airports expands and redevelops its retail space.

Some 4.6 million travelers visit the airport each year.

The two-part agreement includes a new five-year duty-free contract, effective August 2021. The move will include a newly designed walk-through shop, two last-minute duty-free shops in the departure areas and a duty-free arrival shop.

The second part is a six-year duty-paid concession, effective June 2021. It will include several of Dufry’s specialized shop concepts like Tech-On-The-Go for electronics, Spirit of Jamaica for souvenirs and a Hudson convenience shop with travel essentials. These new shops will be spread across the airport to serve both domestic and international travelers.
