L’Occitane Group-backed start-up Duolab has partnered with beauty tech company Revieve to introduce an online skin diagnosis tool.
The partnership connects Duolab’s skincare capsule system, which includes a device that allows consumers to customize skincare formulas, with Revieve’s AI Skincare Advisor.
Duolab’s countertop device acts as an at-home skincare lab where you can customize your skincare formulas. We partnered with the Duolab team to add a personalized digital skin analysis as step one to help consumers find the correct product formulations for their needs.
Customers can access the tool via Duolab’s website. First customers answer questions about their skin concerns and personal needs, add their geographical location and upload a picture of themselves. The tool gathers the information, analyzes the picture and recommends which Duolab capsules and combinations best respond to the customer’s needs.
Duolab plans to add a Skin Coach module to the offer to help customers track their progress over time and change their routines as needed.
Duolab launched its personalized skincare system in 2020. The system includes a device, which can create 20 different formulas, and a range of capsules, which include three moisturizing bases and five targeted concentrates. After choosing capsules according to skincare needs, the device blends together the capsules and delivers the product in 90 seconds.
Customers can either buy the capsules one at a time or have them delivered monthly through a subscription.
Duolab is sold on its newly relaunched e-commerce platforms in the UK, Switzerland and France and at selected retail locations.
