Estée Lauder Companies partners with Florida A&M University as part of Racial Equity goals

Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) has partnered with Florida A&M University (FAMU) as part of its Racial Equity commitments announced in June 2020.

The company’s Travel Retail division has worked with the university to create an internship and scholarship program as part of its aim to double full-time and intern recruits from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). ELC claims that FAMU is ranked number one in the US among HBCUs.

The 10-week summer internship program will be available to FAMU juniors and seniors. ELC says that Travel Retail is one of the company’s fastest-growing channels and reaches three billion passengers annually. The internship will offer positions in ELC’s New York and Miami offices.

Additionally, 41 $10,000 merit scholarships will be awarded to students in FAMU’s School of Business and Industry over the course of five years by FAMU on behalf of ELC.

To celebrate the partnership ELC executives attended FAMU’s Homecoming. The university hosted a series of informal meet and greets and ELC held a formal presentation for students to share information about the company and its Travel Retail team.
