Flavor and fragrance house Firmenich inaugurated its new campus in Geneva, Switzerland yesterday. The company invested almost CHF200m ($201m) in the new facility, the largest amount Firmenich has invested in a single site.
Firmenich says the site is one of the most technologically advanced in the industry, and that the facility confirms the importance of Geneva for the company in the long term.
The campus is located across the two communes of Satigny and La Plaine. The combined surface area covers 225,000m² (3.4mft²) and houses 132,000m² (1.4mft²), of infrastructure in total. It includes three production plants with adjacent lab capabilities for Perfumery, Taste & Beyond and Ingredients creation; a logistics hub and automated warehouse; an R&D biotech pilot plant; and a pavilion for work and social gatherings.
