The 31st edition of the Fragrance Foundation France Awards, which recognize perfume excellence, were held last night, Thursday June 8, at Pavillon Gabriel in Paris. The award winners were announced at a ceremony, which was followed by a gala dinner attended by some 300 industry executives.
Guerlain Paris was the big winner of the evening, walking away with five awards, four for its Aqua Allegoria range. Paco Rabanne’s (Puig) Fame fragrance won two awards – Best Women’s Launch in the Public Choice category and Best Women’s Bottle Design in the Professional Awards category. The Best Women’s Launch in the Professional Awards category went to Prada Paradoxe.
This year, due to the growing importance of sustainability, the Fragrance Foundation France awarded two prizes in the Responsible Innovation category. Grande-Île by Nissaba won the Up-and-Coming Brand award, a category for brands under five years old, while Aqua Allegoria Nerolia Vetiver by Guerlain Paris won the Responsible Innovation Award in the Established Brand category.
Jérôme Viaud, mayor of Grasse, was invited as a special guest to the Awards ceremony. He highlighted the importance of Grasse for the fragrance industry, and said that several ambitious projects are in the works that will see more cosmetics and fragrance players create a larger presence in the city in the south of France.
BW Confidential teamed up with the Fragrance Foundation France once again this year to produce a special-edition magazine featuring the winners of the awards, an interview with the Fragrance Foundation France’s President Philippe Ughetto and a report on the state of the fragrance market in France.
