Fragrance Foundation France Awards 2024 to take place this week in Paris

The Fragrance Foundation France Awards 2024

This year’s Fragrance Foundation France Awards, which recognize fragrance excellence, will take place on Wednesday night in Paris. Some 450 guests are expected to attend the annual awards ceremony and gala dinner.

Some 187 fragrances, which launched on the French market between January and December of 2023, were nominated for this year’s awards. In total, 16 prizes will be awarded in four categories: The People’s Choice Awards, the Professional Awards, the Responsible Innovation Award and the Best Niche Fragrance Award.

BW Confidential once again partnered with The Fragrance Foundation France to publish the programme for the awards ceremony and a special-edition magazine highlighting the nominees and winners of this year’s awards. The special edition, which also includes an in-depth analysis of the fragrance market in France, will be distributed to guests at the event on Wednesday and to BW Confidential’s database.

The People’s Choice Awards

This year, 41,200 people voted online for their favorite fragrances from the 36 nominated in the category.

Within the category, there are four awards: Best Women’s Fragrance of the Year, Best Men’s Fragrance of the Year, and new this year, the Best Fragrance Customer Experience at Point of Sale, and Best Customer Experience in E-Commerce.

Professional Awards

New this year in this category is that a jury of 13 experts from the fragrance industry voted for the best perfumes. In the past, fragrance companies voted for the winners.

The category comprises seven awards: Fragrance Foundation France Special Prize (which is new this year), Best Fragrance among Women’s Launches, Best Bottle Design among Women’s Launches, Best Communication among Women’s Launches, Best Women’s Line Extension in an Existing Range, Best Men’s Line Extension in an Existing Range, and Best Unisex Fragrance.

Best Niche Fragrance

This year, the jury was expanded to include more experts from fragrance houses, brands, as well as journalists, including BW Confidential Editor in Chief, Oonagh Phillips. Also new this year, is that the fragrances were blind tested. In addition, a new award was created in the category for Best Fragrance from a Young Independent Brand Under Five Years Old. There were 97 fragrances nominated in the category compared with 73 last year.

In this category, there are three awards: Best Fragrance from a Brand Belonging to a Group, Best Fragrance from an Independent Brand Over Five Years Old, and Best Fragrance from a Young Independent Brand Under Five Years Old.

Responsible Innovation Award

The Responsible Innovation Award rewards a fragrance’s environmental and societal contributions. There are 14 fragrances in this category. There are two awards in this category: Up-and-Coming Brand and Established Brand.

BW Confidential once again partnered with The Fragrance Foundation France to publish the programme for the awards ceremony and a special-edition magazine highlighting the nominees and winners of this year’s awards. The special edition will be distributed to BW Confidential’s database.
