Korean packaging supplier FSKorea has unveiled a range of new products with a focus on sustainability.
Recyclability, easy refilling and mono-materials are at the heart of the developments, and the products have global patents and are developed with the European market in mind, comments FSKorea Managing Director, Overseas Sales Department Daniel Hwang.
Notably, the company is investing in fully recyclable mono-material-based designs, which eliminate the use of metal or rubber components.
Product highlights include the Go Brush, a recyclable, glue-free brush comprising three parts – the hair, ferrule and handle – which can be assembled and disassembled by the consumer. The concept offers personalizable options and at the same time, encourages awareness of recycling of the different brush parts, says Daniel Hwang.
Another innovation in the brush category is the Na-Mu brush, with a handle made with WPC (wood plastic composites), which comprises PP or PE with sawdust or wood processing waste, and is biodegradable and less expensive than PCR.
Innovations with mono-materials include a plastic spring pump boasting similar spring strength and fewer parts compared to metal springs, but with a consistent dosage.
Other products include a POM-free, springless, recyclable airless pump, and auto-loading dropper with springless option. Refillable concepts include mono-material refill sticks, which are said to be booming in Korea, and a mono-material refill grinder, which provides a way of distributing the formula without contamination while offering a unique user experience. All the products are tested for long-term performance, notes Hwang.
Meanwhile, to stand out in today’s competitive price-driven environment, FSKorea is highlighting its quality positioning and has been forging partnerships with luxury brands, including Chanel and Dolce&Gabanna, reveals FSKorea Founder and President JK Hwang.
FSKorea has a turnover of $S35m. Some 95% of its business is done with exports, including Asia, which represents 40% of sales, followed by the US with 30% and Europe with 20%.
