Swiss flavor and fragrance company Givaudan has created a new entity called House of Naturals (HoN) to further develop ingredients with a focus on sustainable processes. It has four pillars: Agronomy, Innovation, Operations & Perfumers. The new structure will be led by Maxence Billas.
Givaudan will use its Agronomy department, which works closely with farmers and suppliers, to share expertise and knowledge. Supported by its Sourcing4Good programme, the Agronomy department aims to make sure that ingredients are responsibly sourced. The company says this will enable it to have a direct impact on the entire supply chain, from the cultivation of raw materials to the final product.
Givaudan says its scientists are also working to develop new and more green extraction methods for creating responsible ingredients. In addition, HoN will use the company’s blossom[lab] to establish direct connections between fragrance experts and the regions where they source natural perfumery ingredients.
