Inter Parfums Inc has inked a worldwide fragrance license for the Roberto Cavalli brand, effective July 6. Interparfums Italia, the company’s subsidiary based in Florence, will manage the Cavalli fragrance business, as part of a strategy to develop an Italian brand hub.
The fragrance license for Roberto Cavalli was formerly held by Coty.
Roberto Cavalli fragrances launched in 2002 under the Roberto Cavalli and Just Cavalli brands. Interparfums says that the Roberto Cavalli scents are at the luxury end, while Just Cavalli is designed to appeal to contemporary, urban customers. In addition to the two core lines, the brand launched the Roberto Cavalli Gold Collection, an ultra-premium fragrance line, in 2014.
Cavalli fragrances are distributed globally, with a concentration in Europe, the Middle East and the US.
“We will modernize and elevate the fragrance portfolio, build out a powerful global brand presence along with a robust omni-channel reach, strengthening visibility and improve shelf space. Our current plans call for brand extensions in 2024 and a new blockbuster scent for women in 2025. It is natural that the Cavalli brand be based in Italy utilizing our Florence resources, staff and infrastructure, which will be a long-term competitive advantage,” commented Jean Madar, Chairman and CEO of Inter Parfums Inc.
