LiveArea unveils new mobile-based in-store shopping solution at CES

Commerce agency LiveArea unveiled a new retail solution that offers a mobile-based contactless shopping experience at the virtual Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

Called LiveArea Scan & Go, the solution is a web-based system that allows customers to scan products in-store and pay on their smartphones without having to download a retail mobile app. After paying, the platform generates a digital receipt that shoppers can show a store employee when leaving.

The system integrates into retailer’s existing websites, customer profiles and loyalty programs.

LiveArea says the system eliminates checkout lines and can also help retailers attract new customers who are concerned about social distancing.

LiveArea general manager and executive vice president Jim Butler said: “Today’s shoppers need to have the option of unattended retail moments. Forcing shoppers to download apps to checkout is not a customer-first approach. Our customizable contactless solution lets consumers shop, pay, and checkout at their own pace, bringing the convenience of an online experience into physical stores.”

LiveArea Scan & Go is compatible with major e-commerce platforms, including Salesforce Commerce Cloud, SAP Commerce Cloud, Magento and BigCommerce.
