Lotte Duty Free opens Smart Store

Lotte Duty Free opened a digitally driven Smart Store in the Star Avenue corner of its Myeongdong Main Store in Seoul, South Korea.

The store minimizes face-to-face contact with the use of QR codes. Shoppers can use their smartphones to recognize the store’s QR code, configure their language settings, gain access to a digital shopping cart and scan barcodes to obtain product information.

Customers can then add items to their cart and make a quick and easy payment with the “Creating a payment QR code” button.

The store carries 40 brands including Estée Lauder, Shiseido and SK-II, along with niche and designer fragrances like Bulgari, Diptyque and Acqua di Parma.

A virtual make-up service through YouCam App services is available for Estée Lauder products, while Shiseido offers product information via a touch screen.

SK-II offers shoppers the ability to measure the skin’s age through an Individual and Moving Range (I-MR) device, in addition to a skin condition diagnosis.
