MANE and L’Institut Français de la Mode organize event on diversity

MANE and L'Institut Français de la Mode's event called “Inclusive Beauty and Fashion”

French fragrance and flavor company MANE and Paris-based fashion school L’Institut Français de la Mode (IFM) are to host an event called “Inclusive Beauty and Fashion” on June 26.

The event will feature experts, researchers and industry professionals who will discuss the transformation of standards and representations in the luxury and beauty industry at a time when the companies say diversity is becoming a societal and economic imperative.

MANE and IFM state that minority consumers, who have traditionally been overlooked by major brands, are becoming a powerful economic force. By 2030, almost half of the growth in the global luxury and beauty market is predicted to stem from greater ethnic and cultural diversity. This shift is being fueled by Gen Z, who prioritize inclusiveness and spend up to 75% more on brands that reflect their values, challenging traditional marketing models.

However, MANE and IFM say many companies continue to operate within a Western-centric framework that does not reflect current demographic and social realities. The event aims to analyze these practices and help brands update their strategies.

It will focus on Black consumers and authentic representation; the evolution of aesthetic codes and gender norms; the impact of inclusive brands on people with disabilities; and meeting the challenges of diversity.
