Fragrance historian and author Michael Edwards is to release a new book called American Legends: The Evolution of American Fragrances.
The book traces the evolution of American fragrances from 1752 until today, and features a foreword by Chairman Emeritus of The Estée Lauder Companies, Leonard A. Lauder. The book will be released in April in New York (both at the Fragrance Foundation Award Nomination luncheon and at the Fashion Institute of Technology). Edwards will also present the book at the World Perfumery Congress in Geneva, Switzerland on June 25.
The new book is the companion to Perfume Legends, which traces the evolution of French fragrances and in which French perfumers speak about their work and their sources of their inspiration.
Edwards is the Founding Editor of Fragrances of the World, a guide to perfume classification.
During Edwards’ career of over 40 years, he and his team have classified and matched more than 50,000 fragrances.
