Spanish company PyD (Perfumes y Diseño) has acquired a majority stake in skincare brand Twelve Beauty. With the acquisition, PyD has created a new independent business unit in the company, which it says is focused on conscious beauty, responsible innovation and international expansion.

Twelve Beauty was founded in 2012 by pharmacist Pedro Catalá. It is positioned as a clean skincare brand and claims its products are formulated with organic ingredients. The brand cultivates its own orange and olive groves, which it says ensures purity, traceability and the benefits of the extracted oils. Twelve Beauty has a digital presence globally and is also sold in stores in cities including Hong Kong, Shanghai, Paris, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Sonia Graffin, CEO of Twelve Beauty, said the acquisition will boost the brand’s digital presence, international expansion and see the development of new product lines.
