Shiseido finalizes CEO succession plan

Shiseido has announced that Kentaro Fujiwara will become President and CEO from January 1, 2025, replacing Masahiko Uotani who will retire.

Fujiwara is currently Director, Representative Corporate Executive Officer, President and COO.

Since 2019, Shiseido has been working on a five-year CEO succession plan, and in 2022 Fujiwara was appointed President and COO and became candidate for CEO.

Prior to that, Fujiwara was CEO of Shiseido China. He joined Shiseido in 1991 and has also worked for the company in Europe and South Korea.

Uotani, who is currently Director, Representative Corporate Executive Officer, Chairman and CEO, will act as a senior advisor for Shiseido from January 1, 2025. He will retire as a director of Shiseido at the end of March 2025.
