Asian distribution company LUXASIA launched prestige skincare brand SK-II’s (P&G) first official store in Vietnam at the end of September. The store is located at Takashimaya, Saigon Centre in Ho Chi Minh City.
The store features SK-II’s range of skincare products and offers a new service called the SK-II Magic Scan, which is built on facial recognition, computer vision, artificial intelligence, as well as on SK-II’s proprietary Skin Science and Diagnostics research and its 1.2 million datapoints. With the tool the brand claims that in less than five minutes, consumers can understand their skin’s strengths, discover their skin age, see their skin’s future potential and receive personalized product recommendations without requiring facial contact.
To mark the opening of SK-II’s first store in Vietnam, a launch party was hosted at Saigon Centre’s Atrium, which was attended by key media and Vietnamese celebrities, such as actress and singer Chi Pu, actress Ninh Dương Lan Ngọc and Miss Vietnam 2014 Kỳ Duyên.
Suekyung Lee, Global CEO of SK-II, said: “Not only is Vietnam becoming one of Asia’s fastest-growing luxury markets, but we recognize there is a high consumer demand for SK-II.”
LUXASIA Group CEO Wolfgang Baier added: “LUXASIA is proud to expand our regional partnership with P&G and bring the leading global prestige skincare brand SK-II into Vietnam. We are also thrilled to be launching in the top luxury door – Takashimaya department store at Saigon Centre.”
