Symrise names Eder Ramos president of Fragrance business

Symrise global Fragrance business president Eder Ramos

German flavor and fragrance company Symrise has named Eder Ramos president of the company’s global Fragrance business. He is currently head of the Cosmetic Ingredients division.

Ramos will be responsible for Symrise’s fine perfumery, consumer fragrances, including beauty, personal care and home care, and oral care sectors.

The move is part of the company’s reorganization of its Scent & Care segment, which includes Fragrances, Perfume Compositions and Cosmetic Ingredients.

Ramos has also been Symrise’s Regional and Division head in Europe and Latin America. In his new role he will be responsible for integrating Sensient’s fragrance business, which Symrise said it was to acquire last November.

Dr. Jörn Andreas is to take over global responsibility of the Cosmetic Ingredients division. He has held several managerial positions at Symrise in the US, France and Sweden. The company’s Cosmetic Ingredients division will expand through targeted investments in innovation and extending the product portfolio.

The company will increase its focus on ecologically and responsibly obtained raw materials and sustainable processes, including implementing green chemistry. The Cosmetic Ingredients division already offers green chemistry solutions, says Symrise, like multifunctional ingredients made from byproducts of the sugar cane industry and probiotic-based active ingredients to protect sensitive skin.
