The TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference kicked off tonight with an opening cocktail at the Gardens by the Bay in Singapore. The event will run until May 11. This year will be the first fully fledged in-person edition of the show in four years, following the Covid pandemic.
Some 200 exhibitors will attend the show this year, with 61 new exhibitors. The beauty category is the second-largest (the first is wines and spirits), with 57 cosmetics and fragrance exhibitors or 29% of the total number. Leading cosmetics companies exhibiting include: LVMH Beauty, L’Oréal, Puig and Interparfums, which have all reserved larger floor space compared to previous years.
The conference, which takes place on Monday May 8, will open with an address by TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen. Conferences will feature a panel of senior executives from retailers such as China Duty Free Group and Dufry, who will discuss the regional outlook for duty-free and travel-retail, as well as the latest trends in the region.
There will also be talks from top cosmetics industry executives, such as Kaatje Noens, Global Travel Retail Executive Vice President at Puig and Sue Kyung Lee, CEO, Global of SK-II.
The TFWA i.lab, a showcase for innovation and ESG, will launch at the Asia show for the first time – the format has been running at the TFWA Cannes show for a number of years. It will include companies from across Asia Pacific and beyond.
BW Confidential is on the ground in Singapore, and will report on the latest news from the show.
