Lush Cosmetics has made a bold move in its decision to deactivate its Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Snapchat accounts due to the mental health problems the social-media platforms have been accused of provoking. The company says that in the same way that climate change was ignored and belittled for years, concerns about the toxicity of social media are not being acknowledged, and that it has opted to take a stance on the issue.
