Unilever has named Maria Varsellona Chief Legal Officer and Group Secretary. She succeeds Ritva Sotamaa who will retire from the company at the end of March 2022.
Varsellona is currently General Counsel & Company Secretary for global technology company ABB Ltd. Before joining ABB in 2019, Varsellona was Chief Legal Officer of Nokia and President of Nokia Technologies. She has also held senior legal positions at Tetra Laval Group, GE and Hertz.
Additionally, Unilever Chief Supply Chain Officer Marc Engel will leave the group in April 2022. He will be succeeded by Reginaldo Ecclissato, effective January 1, 2022.
Ecclissato has worked at Unilever for 30 years. He is currently Executive Vice President Mexico, Central America and Greater Caribbean. Prior to his current position, he was Executive Vice President of Unilever’s Americas Supply Chain.
