Chanel has unveiled a holiday pop-up at Hamad International Airport, Doha, in collaboration with Qatar Duty Free. The pop-up, called Chanel Winter Tale, is running for three months from November 1, 2024 until January 31, 2025. It involves festive-themed interactive experiences, exclusive and limited-edition products, personalized gifting and souvenirs, and family-friendly activities.
The initiative begins with an email from Chanel to all Qatar Airways passengers, who after boarding their flights can view the brand’s holiday campaign film on in-flight TV.
At the airport, travelers are guided through the terminal by festive signage and white, beige and gold Chanel decorations towards sales podiums, product displays and touchpoints, interactive activities and the Chanel stores. QR codes are positioned throughout to activate snowfall filters on travelers’ phones.
Sales points at the north and south ends of the terminal are meant to resemble gilded doll’s houses with cosy interiors, including fireplaces as photo-walls. The north end is meant to resemble a winter garden with white-frosted pine trees. It offers a range of activities, including a personalized calligraphy service, craft sessions and a photo booth.
A range of products and gift ideas are on sale, including the holiday 2024 make-up collection and a line of shades created by Chanel Comètes Collective member Valentina Li.
Fragrances include the N°5 Eau de Parfum limited-edition frosted bottle, covered in a woven silk mantle meant to resemble dusted snow; the N°5 beige-gold body oil; and N°5 purse sprays, designed to dangle from the wrist. Also on display is the N°5 Parfum in a 900ml handcrafted Baccarat crystal bottle. Other products available are the limited-edition Sublimage L’Extrait de Nuit cream sold in a Maison Lesage tweed-lined black lacquered wooden box and the 31 Le Rouge lipstick launched last year in Chanel’s flagship store in Paris.
Every purchase will include personalized gift wrapping, charms, holiday cards, samples and Chanel snowflakes.
