The TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference kicked off tonight in Singapore with a welcome cocktail at the Flower Dome, Gardens by the Bay, near the city-state’s Marina Bay Sands convention center.
As reported, the event for the Asia travel retail industry takes place this week (until May 14) with a renewed format including a show floor organized by product category, a new area of emerging cosmetics and fragrance brands called Launchpad, and another new section called Taste of the World with a focus on food and beverage.
Some 200 companies will exhibit this year, including 61 cosmetics and fragrance brands, representing 30% of the total. This makes cosmetics and fragrance the second-largest category at the event, after wines, spirits, beers and non-alcoholic beverages, whose exhibitors account for 32% of exhibitors at the show. The TFWA expects around 3,000 visitors to attend the show this year.
There will also be a beefed-up series of conferences and workshops at this year’s event.
BW Confidential’s team is on the ground to bring you the latest news and talking points from the show.
Exhibitors and visitors will be able to pick up BW Confidential’s May-June Magazine, which is widely distributed at the show. The magazine features an interview with Amouage CEO Marco Parsiegla, reports on the skincare and niche fragrance categories, and on the China market, and analysis of travel retail in China and Korea.
