Paris Packaging Week opens its doors today at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in France. The trade show, organized by Easyfairs, runs today and tomorrow.
The event consists of four shows: ADF for aerosols and dispensing systems; PLD for wine, spirits and luxury drinks; Packaging Première for luxury products; and PCD for perfume, cosmetics and personal care.
The show will again be held in the largest space at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, Hall 1, after moving to the hall last year. It will feature over 930 exhibitors (including almost 200 new exhibitors), with more than 15,000 visitors from over 100 countries expected. More than 150 experts will speak at conferences focused on design, innovation and sustainable development.
This year’s event will introduce the Refill & Reuse Zone, which showcases sustainable innovation and circular packaging models that respond to Europe’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
The Discovery Zone returns to this year’s show after its debut last year, dedicated to the future of packaging. This area highlights start-ups using technologies such as artificial intelligence, eco-friendly materials and reuse and smart packaging.
The international packaging design competition Pentawards will host its Pentawards Festival for the second time at Paris Packaging Week. The event features international design agencies, a gallery of the 100 best packaging designs worldwide and conferences led by global design leaders.
Paris Packaging Week also includes the PCD Innovation Awards, with a new category for luxury products, The Premium & Luxury Awards. The winners were announced last night at the new Innovation Awards Gala Party.
The traditional on-site awards ceremony will be replaced by panel discussions with the winners. Award winning projects will also be displayed in a gallery during the show.
BW Confidential Editor in Chief Oonagh Phillips was part of the jury for the Awards.
