TFWA reveals Cannes conference speakers

The conference at the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes this October will feature talks by DFS Group CEO Benjamin Vuchot, Trip.com Group CEO Jane Sun and IATA Vice President Europe Rafael Schvartzman.

Vuchot will discuss how travel retail can reinvent itself to meet the changing needs of traveling consumers, while Trip.com’s Sun will share her thoughts on the return of travel in China and on future expectations of Chinese travelers.

TFWA President Jaya Singh will kick off the conference on Monday October 25, while Imagen Insights Co-founder Jay Richards will bring the conference to a close by exploring how the duty free and travel retail industry can remain relevant to the all-important Gen Z shopper.

The conference will also be livestreamed on the TFWA 365 platform for those unable to attend the show.

Health aware, business focused

The TFWA said it is working to provide a “health-aware, business-focused” environment for duty-free and travel-retail professionals.

It said that the traditional social gathering on Sunday, October 24 in the evening will not take place this year.

However, from Monday, October 25 to Thursday, October 28, from 6:30pm to 9pm, the TFWA Lounge will offer visitors a place to network.

Additionally, TFWA’s ONE2ONE service will be available for delegates to book face-to-face meetings on-site or digital meetings via TFWA 365.

The association says the show will implement robust health and safety measures. Attendees will have to show proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 result. There will be testing facilities available at the show grounds.

Face masks will also be mandatory and hand sanitizers will be located throughout the event. There will be a 24-hour medical concierge service at the venue with specialist medical teams available.

Registration to access the show and conference will be open until October 7.
