TFWA unveils social causes for Cannes show

The TFWA has introduced two initiatives focused on social causes that it will highlight at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes: #KickCancerThon and ‘Yes We Cannes!’

The Cannes show will take place from September 27 until October 1.

The TFWA will support #KickCancerThon, a travel retail industry initiative launched by The Moodie Davitt Report and inspired by the late Sinead Moodie, to raise funds and awareness for cancer research.

Exhibitors, visitors and industry partners can participate by cycling on stationary bikes installed on the parvis outside the Palais des Festivals throughout the week.

For every kilometre cycled by delegates, TFWA will donate €10 to the cancer research program at The Royal Marsden Hospital, where Sinead Moodie received treatment for NUT carcinoma.

The TFWA has also confirmed the return of ‘Yes We Cannes!’ Handisport for its fourth edition. Organized by the association and Stade Toulousain Handisport in partnership with m1nd-set, the initiative aims to promote inclusion, accessibility and awareness through sport, while raising funds to support adaptive sports programs.

The event will take place on Sunday 27 September at the Allées de la Liberté, next to Cannes City Hall. Participants will be able to try a range of adaptive sports activities, including wheelchair rugby, blind football and a hand-bike challenge. The event will conclude with a wheelchair rugby tournament featuring participating teams.
